Vegan Footwear Label Launches Range Made From Recycled Plastics

Cult vegan footwear label TWOOBS today launches its first environmentally conscious collection with its SS21 campaign shot in Byron Bay.

Retaining its iconic classic styles, the Melbourne-based brand has relaunched its entire collection with a range of sandals made from recycled plastics & yarns.

Founders and fashion personalities Jess & Stef Dadon cancelled their initial order of 22 on-trend styles in favour of an 8 piece minimalistic range, in a move towards slow fashion.

When the brand’s sales dropped in March due to COVID-19, the sisters took the opportunity to reassess their goals for the brand. They recognised that urgent action is needed to reduce the fashion industry’s impact on the environment.

The brand’s sustainability efforts also include going 100% carbon neutral and moving to satchel-free packaging. Additionally, the brand has launched a first-of-its-kind take-back program, recycling customers’ old shoes into playground mats in exchange for a $10 voucher.

TWOOBS has also launched The Kinda Blog, where the team will share their journey to becoming Australia’s most sustainable footwear brand. By openly documenting their processes along the way, they aim to encourage other brands to go sustainable with them.

You can check out their 8 piece range now available at twoobs.com
