Show Your Pride & Sip Sustainably This Mardi Gras

As a proud supporter and ally of the LGBTIQA+ community around the world for over 40 years, Absolut is once again a supporting partner for the upcoming Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Though celebrations will look a little different this year with COVID-19 restrictions, you can bring the spirit of Mardi Gras home and sip sustainably with the limited edition Absolut rainbow bottle made from recycled glass.

The brand’s iconic rainbow bottle is making a comeback for a cause, with $5 from every Limited Edition Absolut rainbow bottle sold being donated to a range of grassroots LGBTIQA+ charities in regional and rural Australia, to help take the spirit of Pride further.

In addition to recycled glass and supporting Mardi Gras, Absolut believes in striving to make as little impact on the environment as possible. The Absolut distillery is carbon neutral, and one of the most energy efficient in the world. Carbon offsetting is done by planting trees that reclaim CO2 from the atmosphere over their lifetime.

Sip sustainably with this make-at-home cocktail recipe

For a make-at-home recipe to further get you in the spirit of Mardi Gras, just grab some ice cubes, glitter and invite your besties. Just be sure to hold the shaker with two hands.

Absolut Queen Beach cocktail ingredients:

Ice Cubes
20 ml Absolut Vodka
100 ml Light Orange Juice
100 ml Cranberry Juice
20 ml Peach Schnapps
1 Wheel Lime
1 Whole Cherry

How to mix:

Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add all ingredients.
Garnish with lime and a cherry. Voila!

Take a sip for charity

If you’re looking to mix things up, why not hit the town instead? Just like that banger that gets the dancefloor going, the Absolut Banger cocktail will shift you into party mode with the very first sip.

A delicious mix of Absolut Lime, Lillet Blanc, passionfruit and granny smith apple, it’s available in select venues till March 7th. The best bit? For every Absolut Banger ordered, Meriviale will donate $2 to ACON and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation.
